Pilale Bay Farms
Haʻikū, Maui
Pilale Bay Farms is a diversified farm focused on increasing the amount of food grown locally for the Maui community. Our work centers on developing long-term fruit and cultural plantings, rebuilding soil, and bringing more land into active agricultural use.
Production includes avocado, banana, citrus, coconut, and other tree crops, along with lei materials and nursery plants. Plantings are managed for seasonal harvests and ongoing growth across the farm.
Over 350 established fruit and cultural plantings are already producing across the farm, with additional areas being developed each year.
As the farm expands, a portion of production is donated to the Maui Food Bank, and the operation participates in volunteer efforts supporting community land restoration.
Pilale Bay Farms continues to grow step by step, with a long-term commitment to productive land and local food for Maui.
Coconuts from the farm provide a renewable feed source for our free-range chickens, reducing reliance on imported grain, adding variety to their diet, and keeping nutrients cycling on site.
Seeds collected during a kou tree removal were propagated into new seedlings, turning a removal project into future plantings.
Lime flowers signal the start of the next citrus crop. Citrus trees are a core part of the farm’s long-term food production.
